Periodontal Bone Loss 35

Use the slider to move the CEJ-to-CEJ reference line. Get a visual of the percent of root length and distance in mm. Use this tool to help you determine radiographic bone loss in a Bitewing radiograph. Don't forget that healthy periodontal bone can be up to 1-2 mm apical from the CEJ.

Stage I (<15% of root length)
Stage II (15-33% of root length)
Stage III/IV (>33% of root length)
